Autodesk expert throws light on BIM methodologies
Ahmedabad: Dignitaries came under one roof to share insights on multiple ranges of BIM issues – from implementation, clash detection to an execution of a project. The event was inaugurated by David Couchon, Senior Director World Wide, Consulting Delivery Global Services, Autodesk Inc., who was the chief guest on the occasion here.
Ahmedabad-based UNIBiM Services in association with Shayona Group and premier in AEC software Autodesk Consulting hosted the mega conference which was attended by participants from architecture, construction and engineering sectors. UNIBiM Services welcomed Couchon on his visit to the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Our Director touched upon numerous practices involving BIM methodologies and how it took imaging and documentation of buildings to a new level. He said building processes are constantly challenged in delivering successful projects despite tight budgets, limited manpower, accelerated schedules and conflicting information.
He emphasized that such an event is an opportunity to showcase international case studies from a number of leading companies using BIM to increase their productivity and profitability.
In his introductory speech, Couchon explained to the audience on the extensive use of intelligent design in BIM. It benefits each stakeholder to store valuable data at a time when there is a constant change in building designs.
BIM is an effective tool to track changes occurring at various stages of a project, he said, adding, one is able to save precious data pertaining to its design versions.
The other speakers on dais discussed on its vibrant modeling option where not only building’s interiors can be visible but even the other existing structures in the vicinity.
